Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale at Willowbrook Mill
Do your Christmas shopping and help support the Leelanau Children's Center today, Saturday, December 3 when you shop the Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale at the Willowbrook Mill in Northport. Terrific baked goods, crafts and wonderful goods to buy. Proceeds all go to support early childhood education at Northport's LCC. The event is sponsored by the Best for Kids Committee.

Fall is here and the annual Fall Festival is planned for October 15. Northport is decorated for fall and the merchants are looking forward to greeting you when you visit.
Again this year we offer free rides on the horse-drawn wagonette, which will be leaving regularly from the Visitor's Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Also, the local restaurants will be having specials so come visit our lovely town, enjoy the fall colors and dine at one of our local eateries. Here are the specials they'll be offering:
Barb's Bakery - Pumpkin donuts and apple cider
The Galley - A free order of breadsticks with any large pizza
Garage Bar & Grill - Squash soup, roasted root vegetable salad, prime rib and apple crisp made with Kilcherman's apples.
North End Eatery - A cup of butternut squash bisque, grilled cheese and a fountain drink for $8.00
Stubbs - A full or half-rack of pork ribs at a reduced price
Treasurer Chest - Boiled dinner soup (cabbage, ham, carrots etc.) and caramel apples

Labor Day Weekend is Almost Here!
The final weekend of the summer is almost here. Where did summer go? Celebrate the season and visit Leelanau Township. Enjoy the weekend in the best place to live, work and play in all of Michigan!
Get an early start on the weekend Thursday afternoon when the Northport Sportsman's Club hosts their annual Youth Clays Event. It begins at 4 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. and it's a great way to introduce young people to the shhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifooting sports. It's open to young people from ages 9 to 18 who are accompanied by an adult.
Prepare for your weekend meals by buying something tasty at the Farmer's Market. The market is held weekly on Friday mornings at the historic Northport Depot. It runs from 9 am. to 1 p.m.
This Friday, September 2 marks the final Music in the Park concert for 2011. This is the 25th year of Music in the Park. A big thank you to all the concert sponsors and also to Kent Holton who books the bands and handles sound at each event.
We end the season with the Leo Creek an old time rock and roll band, sponsored by Garage Bar and Grill. Leo Creek members have shared the stage with Bob Seger, Kid Rock and more. Get take out or pack a picnic and head to Marina Park at 7 p.m. and enjoy. As always, the concerts are free but free will offerings to help cover expenses are appreciated.

Monies raised in this walk, which honors Alice Busby who died in 1994 at age 43 of breast cancer, go to pay for mammograms for women who otherwise could not afford them. The walk is sponsored by the Zonta Club of Leelanau County.

The curtain rises at 8 p.m. on August 6 and 4 p.m. on August 7. Performances are at the Northport Community Arts Center.
